Javan gibbon (Hylobates moloch) is critically endangered and endemic to Java.  There are fewer than 4000 left in the wild.  GCC houses the only Javan gibbons in the USA:

Shelby (male, born 18 May 1983)
Chloe (female, born 24 Feb. 1990)
Khusus (female, born 11 Jan 1995)

Northern white-cheeked gibbon (Nomascus l. leucogenys) is nearly extinct in S. Yunnan, China, and North Vietnam, and critically endangered in Lao PDR; fewer than 400 are left in the wild:

    All gibbons remain under the care and ownership of GCC.  "Adoption" of an individual gibbon is subject to transfer if "your" gibbon becomes unavailable for any reason.

  1. If you want to adopt a gibbon or species to help save them from extinction, please send the following information with a check or money order to:  GCC, PO Box 800249, Santa Clarita, CA 91380 USA

  2. The gibbon's name or the species
  3. The amount of your donation  
  4. Your name 
  5. Your address, city, state or province, zip or postal code and country
  6. Your name (or the recipient, if a gift) as you would like it to appear on the certificate
