helping hand. Help us save an endangered species. Several gibbon
species are on the brink of extinction. We need your help to ensure the
survival of these magnificent creatures.

URGENT PLEA TO OUR FRIENDS AND
SUPPORTERS:
The Gibbon
Conservation Center
needs to begin collecting funds now to purchase property in order to relocate.
Encroaching local development will soon become a very real threat to the health
and well-being of our gibbons. Stress from the sight and noise of construction,
and microorganisms in the dust stirred up in earth moving, pose unacceptable and
lethal dangers.
Such a move will be, by far,
the greatest and most difficult undertaking GCC has ever faced. While
maintaining the facility in its present location, we must find the additional
funds to purchase property, obtain permits, build enclosures, offices and living
space for the director and staff, then move the entire contents of the current
facility. Most importantly, the safety and health of the gibbons during the move
must be carefully planned for and assured. This move will take at least a year
and a half, but we must begin immediately.
Our most urgent need is for at
least 20 usable acres (or the funds to buy) in Los Angeles, Ventura, San Luis
Obispo or Monterey County, or other mild climate more suitable for the gibbons.

Help Gibbon Conservation Center While Shopping
Ralph's Grocery Stores:
The Gibbon Conservation Center is now registered with THE
RALPH'S COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION PROGRAM. When you use your Ralph's Club Card
when buying groceries, Ralph's will send a contribution to the Gibbon
Conservation Center AT NO COST TO YOU.
If you would like to help the Gibbon Center this way, please follow the
instructions below.
Our NPO (Non Profit Organization) number is #90579.
*** TO USE THE RALPH'S COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION PROGRAM ***
1-- Simply register online at www.ralphs.com,
and re-register every September,
click on "community contributions" then click on "participants".
2-- Be sure you have your Ralph's Club Card(s) available and register it
with your organization by following the easy online directions.
3-- If a you do not have a Ralph's Club Card, they are available at the
customer service desk at any Ralph's.
4-- Remember, purchases will not count for Gibbon Conservation Center until
after you register your card(s).
5-- Do you use your phone number at the register? Call 800-660-9003 to get
your Club Card number.
6-- Members must swipe their registered Ralph's Club Card or use the phone
number that is related to their registered Ralph's Club Card when shopping
for each purchase to count.
(You may also be able to enroll your Ralph's Club Card to help the Gibbon
Center by telling the cashier, one time, the Gibbon Conservation Center's
NPO #90579.)
All donations go directly and

Builds a naturalistic enclosure at GCC
*This amount entitles you to enroll in our adoption
program. 2% of the donations for this program go to support the survival
of the crested gibbon of Hainan Island, China. With only 14 individuals
remaining, the Hainan black-crested gibbon, (sp. cf. nasutus hainanus) is the world's most endangered primate.
Also nearly extinct is the Eastern black-crested gibbon (sp. cf. nasutus
nasutus), of NE Vietnam, east of the Red River. There are also only 14
of these gibbons left, making these two gibbons the rarest primates on earth.
