Dear Friends of the Gibbon Conservation Center,

A little update about what we are doing during this trying time.  We are still closed to the public and volunteers.  While public safety is a major concern we have to be especially careful about the gibbons health as well.  I'm sure many of you recall dipping your feet in disinfectant and watching staff members sanitize their hands countless times while feeding.  These protocols already in place have only been heightened during this period of time.  Currently our staff of 2 full time 2 part-time employees have willingly taken a cut in days to brace for the impact of a lack of weekend funding.  Additionally our core staff is staying at the center to self isolate and minimize risk to the gibbons.  As many of you know we have always run the center on a tight budget relying on heavily on volunteers & building everything we have in house.  

Unfortunately, the majority of our income for general operations comes from weekend admission, private tours, events and field trips.  It costs over $15,000 a month to run the center.  To support us during this difficult time, please consider purchasing a membership.  Memberships will be honored through next year at almost 50 reciprocal facilities.  We also have items available in our gift shop.  For items on back order it may take a month to receive.  

We understand that many of us are going through financial instability right now and cannot afford to make a direct monetary donation.  Here are some other ways to help indirectly while you shop for essentials online.
